The Sugar Cane Carnival Polo Match will be hosted by the Chukka Blue Polo Club, Sunday February 17, 2008 from 2pm to 6pm. VIP tickets are available for US$75.00 per person and to encourage participation by vacationers round-trip transportation from Montego Bay and Negril area hotels is included along with butler service, a performance by the Children’s Marching Band, High Tea Chukka style and all premium drinks. All proceeds for the Sugar Cane Carnival Polo Match will be donated to the non-profit Hanover Charities of Jamaica, one of the oldest charitable organizations in Western Jamaica raising funds for the needy since 1957. There are two scheduled matches: a six-chukka, low-goal match featuring the up-and-coming young Jamaican players will begin at 2:00pm and the main event, a six-chukka, high-goal match pitting Round Hill Hotel and Villas against Chukka Caribbean Adventures will begin at 4:00pm. ‘The Best of the Best’ from the Jamaica Polo Association will be out fielding both teams including Jamaica’s very own Leslie Ann Masterton Fong Yee, a two goal player ranked among the top players world wide.
